Bermuda’s Grief & Loss Awareness Day 2026

Bermuda’s Grief & Loss Awareness Day is an annual national observance founded by the Gina Spence Program (GSP) to acknowledge the often unseen and unspoken effects of grief and loss within our community. Held on the first Friday of March, the day brings together individuals, families, schools, workplaces, and organisations to promote awareness, compassion, and collective healing across Bermuda.

Grief & Loss Awareness Day in Bermuda creates space for reflection, conversation, and support, reminding individuals and families that they are not alone in navigating loss.

All funds raised directly subsidize and offset the cost of counselling services, grief and loss workshops, and community awareness initiatives across Bermuda.

Looking Back: Bermuda’s Inaugural Grief & Loss Awareness Day 2025

Bermuda’s first Grief & Loss Awareness Day took place on 6 March 2025 on the steps of City Hall in Hamilton. Why Grief & Loss Awareness Day Matters

Grief is a universal experience. It may result from the death of a loved one, sudden tragedy, illness, relationship changes, or significant life transitions. Too often, grief goes unrecognised, leaving individuals to suffer in silence.

Grief & Loss Awareness Day in Bermuda exists to normalise conversations around grief, promote understanding, and connect individuals with resources and support. Healing is strengthened through acknowledgement, compassion, and community care.
